I've completely changed all colors of my blog.

This background makes more sense with the title.
I am secretly (or not so secretly) hoping that someone looks at that borders and tries to find the FifthOrangeBulb I am talking about. If you don't already have a headache from the colors.

Today I researched about about my favorite author Lois Lowry. One of them anyway. She lives in Massachusetts but has a splendidly beautiful home in Maine. It made me wonder about writing. Writing could be fun.

I feel like the name of this blog should be Fifth Orange Bulb to the Right and Straight on 'til Morning, seems like me, or something like that. and that I should write more. I just never know what to say.

Wedding Update! Because that is what we "engaged girls" do. (Someone actually said that to me the other day, of course we freakin' do, have you tried planning a wedding. I don't care about that whole "It's one day" crud. It's one day that my mother, grandmother, sister and mother-in-law want to make absolutely perfect whether I care or not, which is, oh so very much, the latter. I'm trying to care about napkins and vases and flowers and dresses and suits and ties and... but I just don't care.) That was a long parenthetical. Anyway there's lots more to planning a wedding than I thought. First world problems.
So Here's My (required) Wedding Update: We went and registered at Bed, Bath, and Beyond the other day. They sit your down and brief you for a half an hour, hand you a gun, and let you loose on the store. We ran into not one, not two, but three couples we knew! This wedding thing is crazy. Dang everybody's getting married, it's like the trendy thing to do. ; ) (Obviously not, but really these "trends" are killing me, how many wedding receptions have you been to in the past few weeks, or how many are you planning on going to in the next few months?  Don't try this at home kids! Not a bandwagon decision. Okay so I guess there's not too many right? Just you know, Ann-Marie's, Jesse's, and mine. Did I miss anyone? : ) Anyway, I really am excited to get married, just throwing that out there.

Slice of Life for a Class Assignment

I hadn't really smiled in a while. like really smiled. Today I really smiled thinking of the possibilities that life has for me. I smiled because I like stories and talking to people because I want to have a family and take care of that family. Because I love english and because I like breaking the rules sometimes. (English should always be capitalized : ) and I love grammar but without commas I'm pretty sure you guys are getting what I mean. I want to hike and run and eat and swim and read stories and edit them and find a job that I can leave at my job and then come home and give one hundred percent at home. I want to support a husband and play. Enjoy life. I was one of those people who would have said that this is idealistic thinking. I can get a job, I can balance and enjoy life. I want to and I will. This is the first of many posts I will post on here. I commented on Rachel's post about writing for the first time on the SOL page. This is my first time and I want you to know it's been pretty fun. Slices of life are my whole life and so I guess it's hard to choose what to share sometimes so I haven't been sharing at all. I have a blog that I'll actually start rambling on, maybe... here's the link
I hope you all get to smile soon. Mwah Carly

Nerdo

In my house we had a word that was "Nerdo." A kind of term of endearment that meant, "We love you even though you are such a nerd." It would be used in phrases such as, "You little Nerdo," or "Hey Nerdo." and it just meant something special.
Well today I felt like a Nerdo. Sitting in my English classes today I just ate up everything my professor said, I wanted to discuss and comment on everything everyone said, I just felt like connecting everything to the amazing readings we had, I felt bad that I hadn't read things more thoroughly and terrible that I didn't read some things at all. My name is Carly Brown and I'm a Nerdo.

Matching-

I wore a v-neck blue shirt today with a grey pencil skirt. Walking to class I did a slow walk by with a guy as we both noticed that he had on the same blue v-neck shirt and grey shorts. T-shirts don't discriminate. A masculine version of myself. Trippy.
